Alan Worsick took 8-48 to bowl champions Accrington to a 45 run victory over Enfield at Thorneyholme Road. Worsick made it 14 wickets for the weekend as Enfield were bowled out for 107. Eric Nuttall top scored with 29 and George Holt hit 20 but all Enfield's batsmen struggled against the Accrington professional. Consistent batting by Peter West (39), Graham Beech (31), Geoff Hayhurst (21), Alan Richardson (17) and Worsick (15) had earlier taken Accrington to 152-6. The champions are now 4th with 15 points, 17 points behind leaders East Lancs. Nelson level with Accrington in 4th place.
