Third placed East Lancs drew at Accrington after being bowled out for 161. Jim Eland picked up 4-53 and professional Bobby Simpson 4-51 with John Parker top scoring with 43 in the visitors innings. Brian Ratcliffe also hit 28 and stubborn batting by tailenders Roger Sharp (18 not out), Lol Queen (18) and Ray Kelly (16) lifted the total from 117-8. Simpson hit an unbeaten 42 in Accrington's 91-4 after his opposite number Fazal Mahmood had taken 3-31. Scorecard
