Second placed Colne maintained their challenge with a 7 wicket win over Accrington at the Horsfield. Professional Stan Jayasinghe took 4-45, Geoff Hall 3-39 and Bobby Little 3-20 to dismiss Accrington for 111. Frank Rushton made 20 but it took a stubborn last wicket stand of 34 by Jim Eland (18) and Jack Collier (14) to take the score into three figures. An unbeaten 69 by Tyril Gauder swept Colne to victory in 23 overs. Gauder hit a dozen boundaries, adding 62 for the first wicket with Gordon Pickles (20). Scorecard
