Accrington professional Bobby Simpson set a new club batting record during his unbeaten match winning innings of 109 at Bacup. Simpson broke fellow Australian Ken Archer's record which was set five years ago. He hit seventeen boundaries in extending his club record run of successive half centuries to eight. Skipper Lindon Dewhurst hit eight fours in making an unbeaten 50 in an unbroken 5th wicket stand of 110, scored in 58 minutes with the last 50 coming in an incredible 18 minutes, to secure Accrington's tenth win of the season. Ronnie Kershaw picked up all 4 wickets to fall in conceding 64 runs. Bacup skipper Stan Entwistle had earlier declared his sides innings closed at 183-5 when he was unbeaten on 97. Fred Mitchell also chipped in with an unbeaten 33 in an unbroken 6th wicket stand of 71 with his skipper. Scorecard
