Accrington
A v Kashmir
A cold grey day with countless interruptions for rain, a 10 wicket defeat and two former players doing the business all added up to a highly forgettable afternoon at Bullough Park. That said, the batting of Andrew Thompson at least provided something positive to write about as the young left hander made a highly competent 18, Accrington's top score. Andrew played some delightful shots off his legs to give the score just a hint of respectability in what was reduced to a 22 overs a side match. Tom Pendergast made yet another unbeaten double figure score but everyone else failed. Nadeem Mohammed made the most of a lively track to take 5-15 but it was not his best bowling performance by a long way. Accrington didn't look like taking a wicket (sorry Alven) as former first teamer Mushtaq Ahmed hit 29 and his partner 24 on a day to forget. A much improved performance will be needed on Sunday against the same opponents in the cup semi final. Sad
