Accrington
A v Attock
A disappointing display by Accrington A saw them go down to a 68 run defeat at Thorneyholme Road to Attock. The visitors batted first and made 185-7 with Abrar Shah hitting 40 after giving his customary early chance to a vacant second slip area. Accrington's fielding was very poor with at least a dozen chances going begging. As the innings progressed the ball left the ground more frequently. Mohammed Ilyas, a century maker against Clayton Youth Club last time out, hit 40 which included several shots that would have counted as sixes in other forms of cricket. Mick Donnelly picked up 2-15 and Tom Pendergast 2-71, but it has to be said that it was Tom who suffered most at the hands of his colleagues. Chasing 186 to win in 32 overs was always going to be difficult and so it proved. Phil Carter made a late unbeaten 29 and Zaed Hussain picked up his first runs of the season, but there was only going to be one winner after the home sides display in the field.
