Wednesday September 28th
All Stars took the honours at the Accrington and District League Presentation Night at Accrington Cricket Club.

The Haslingden based side did the league and cup double in picking up their first ever trophies during the season.

Batsman Mohsin Imtiaz picked up the prizes for most runs (333) and best average (83.2) and paceman Khizer Hayat topped the bowling averages with 12 wickets at 8.7.

Arif Hussain of Adams Taxis picked up a special award for taking 10 wickets in a match and he also picked up the award for most wickets (20). Kashmir all rounder Azhar Nawaz was named 'Player of the year'. Nawaz hit 308 runs at 34.2 and he also took 16 wickets at 9.3.


Saturday August 20th [Final Table]
All Stars clinched their first ever ADCL title win after beating Kashmir in a high scoring game in the final round of matches at Highams. An unbeaten 116 from 17 year-old Mohsin Imtiaz took All Stars, who also won the Harry Wood Cup, to a 7 wicket win. Mohsin's maiden century was made in a big stand with his brother Zubair, who was unbeaten on 53 as All Stars passed Kashmir's 208-7. Azhar Nawaz hit 73 and Mohammed Mahmood 39 with Zubair taking 3-57 and Adeeb Nawaz 3-51 in Kashmir's innings.

Adam's Taxis clinched the runners up spot after Accrington Snooker were unable to field a side for the second match running.

Attock beat Taverners by 98 runs. Shakeel Kahn hit 76 and Abra Shah 43 in Attock's 228-6. Rameez Shah then took 5-52 and Nasir Ahmed 3-15 to dismiss Taverners for 130.

Saturday August 6th
Attock had a nail biting 3 run win over Kashmir in the penultimate round of matches. Attock made 119 with Abra Shah top scoring with 53. Irfan Bakhari took 4-17 and Mushtaq Ahmed 3-18  for Kashmir. Kyber Shah took 4-9 and Mohammed Ismail 3-40 to dismiss Kashmir for 116. Azhar Nawaz hit 25 and Mohammed Mahmood 20.

Taverners notched a second win of the season when Accrington Snooker failed to show.

All Stars beat Adam's Taxis by 5 wickets. Moin Uddin took 3-11 and Adeeb Nawaz 2-27 as Adam's were bowled out for 135. Mohsin Imtiaz made 41 and Mohammed Riaz 25 as All Stars moved nearer the title.

Saturday June 25th
Half centuries from Mohsin (59) and Zubair Imtiaz (52 not out) helped league leaders All Stars to a 98 run win over Taverners. All Stars made 212-4 and then Zubair (3-21) and Adeeb Nawaz (3-28) took three wickets each to dismiss Taverners for 114.

Adams Taxis had an exciting 2 run win over Kashmir. Waheed Ahmed made 42 and Nadeem Ashraf 21 in Adam's 159 all out with Rab Nawaz Khan taking 4-26 and Mushtaq Ahmed 3-40 for Kashmir. Irfan Bakhari hit 36 but Kashmir were bowled out for 157 with Arif Hussain taking 3-74.

Attock made the highest score of the day, 220-5 against bottom side Accrington Snooker. Nadeem Shah (62) and  Yasir Mahmood (59) both made half centuries for Attock who then dismissed Snooker  for 105 with left armer Shakeel Khan taking 5-48.

The rained off league matches from the opening day will now be replayed later in the season. The Harry Wood Cup will be played in a league format during July with two groups of three teams.

Saturday June 18th
All Stars came out on top in the top verses bottom clash against Accrington Snooker. Zubair Imtiaz took 3-7 as Snooker were bowled out for 104. Anil Joshi top scored with 20 as the league leaders got home by 5 wickets.

Second placed Adams Taxis beat Attock by 9 wickets. Arif Hussain took 3-18 as Attock were bowled out for just 60. Akhtar Hussain made 24 for Adams.
Mushtaq Ahmed (68) and Mohammed Irfan (65) both made half centuries in Kashmir's high scoring win over Taverners. Kashmir made 194-5 and then restricted Taverners to 156-8. David Swift made 35 and Daniel Thompson 33 for Taverners.

Saturday June 11th
All Stars won the top of the table clash in the ADCL to topple leaders Kashmir at Highams. Mohsin Imtiaz hit an unbeaten 66 and Mohammed Riaz hit 40 in All Stars' 162 all out with Azhar Nawaz taking 5-23 for Kashmir. Nawaz then top scored with 27 but paceman Khizer Hayat took 5-26 to dismiss Kashmir for 149.
Attock beat Taverners by 43 runs. Mohammed Ismail hit 76 and Nadeem Shah (56) scored his maiden half century in Attock's 212-7. Dave Reed replied with 68 and Daniel Thompson hit 30 but Ismail rounded off a great all round performance by taking 6-24 to win the match for Attock.


Adam's Taxis beat Accrington Snooker by 105 runs. Adams made 207-8 with Arshad Mahmood and Nadeem Ashraf both making 50. Mazar Khan then took 3-6 and Arfan 3-25 to dismiss Snooker for 102.
Sunday's match between Attock and All Stars was abandoned after Attock had piled up 236-6. All Stars innings had just begun when rain forced the players from the field.


Saturday June 4th
A century from former Accrington and Enfield opener Mushtaq Ahmed took Kashmir into the lead at the top of the table after the other two matches were called off. Mushtaq hit 101 in Kashmir's 190-8 and then Rabnawaz Khan took 6-47 to dismiss Accrington Snooker for 119. The Attock - All Stars game will now be played at Highams on Sunday June 12th.
Saturday May 28th
All Stars and Kashmir share the lead after four matches in the ADCL.
All Stars had a 9 wicket win over Adams Taxis with Moin Uddin taking 5-35 and Adeeb Nawaz 4-29 to dismiss Adams for 74. Abdul Swammad hit 35 not out in All Stars 9 wicket win.Nazakat Hussain hit an unbeaten 61 and Mushtaq Ahmed 41 in Kashmirs 3 wicket win over Attock. Yasir Mahmood hit 51 and Abrar Shah 38 in Attock's 147 all out with Ashar Nawaz taking 4-24 for Kashmir. Taverners recorded their first win of the season at the expense of Accrington Snooker. Shabir Fazal took 4-34 and David Swift 3-30 to dismiss Snooker for 152. Fazal then hit 35 and Naveed Khan 49 as Taverners won by just 1 wicket.


Saturday May 21st
Arif Hussain became only the seventh bowler to take all ten wickets in an innings in the ADCL when he took 10-28 for Adams Taxis against Kashmir at Wilsons. Kashmir were dismissed for 95 and then Mazar Khan hit an unbeaten 44 to take Adam's to an 8 wicket win. Attock had a big win over Accrington Snooker on Highams Attock made 178-3 with Abrar Shah hitting 57 and Shakeel Khan 45. Shakeel (2-9) and Shahid Iqbal (2-9) then took two wickets each as Snooker were bowled out for 68. The match at Bullough Park between Taverners and All Stars was cancelled after being vandalized by motor bikes and horses.

Saturday May 14 th
Kashmir hit the top score of the opening day of the 2005 Accrington and District Cricket League season. Azhar Nawaz hit 79 and Mushtaq Ahmed 49 in Kashmir's 205-8. Ibrar Raja then took 3-7 as Taverners were bowled out for 77. All Stars beat Accrington Snooker by 75 runs. Abdul Swammad hit 39 and Mohsin Imtiaz 35 for All Stars and then Adeeb Nawaz took 4-31 to dismiss Snooker for 79.

Adam's beat Attock by 4 wickets. Irfan (3-23) and Mazar Khan (3-23) both took three wickets to dismiss Attock for 117, Shakeel Khan top scoring with 47. Nadeem Ashraf then hit an unbeaten 40 to steer Adam's home.


Harry Wood Cup round up

Harry Wood Cup winners All Stars

All Stars won the Harry Wood Cup for the first time by beating Attock by 70 runs in the final at Wilsons.

The league leaders worked hard on a wet wicket at Wilsons led by Zubair Imtiaz (30) and Mohammed Riaz (22) to set a competitive score of 119. Shakeel Khan(2-21) and Rameez Shah (2-28) took 2 wickets apiece for Attock

All Stars came out with all guns blazing, getting a wicket with the first ball of Attock's reply. From there on Attock were struggling with the pace and accuracy of Zubair Imtiaz (1-23) and Khizer Hayat (1-6) and the swing of Adeeb Nawaz (5-17) who turned a match winning performance to rout through the Attock batting.

The game was umpired by Alven Burrows and Walter Wilcock.

A special thanks to Alven Burrows for drying the wicket as much as he could so the game could get underway.

The road to the Final
Attock and All Stars got to the final of the Harry Wood Cup after winning their respective groups. Both sides won their two group games to reach the final.

Attock began with a 3 wicket win over an 8 man Taverners side who were dismissed for 95, Rameez Shah taking 3-23. Kashmir also beat Taverners (116) by 5 wickets with Mushtaq Ahmed following up a great bowling spell of 4-2 with an unbeaten 38 to set up a decider with Attock.

The game proved to be a thriller with Attock coming out on top by just 5 runs. Attock made 163 with Shabir Ahmed hitting 43 and Mushtaq again enjoying success with the ball, taking 4-38. In spite of 42 from Azhar Nawaz and an unbeaten 39 by Saeed Ullah, Kashmir could only make 158-4 in reply.

All Stars cup run began with a 110 run win over Accrington Snooker. The Imtiaz brothers Mohsin (60) and Zubair (49) top scored in All Stars 210-9 and then 14 year-old Mohammed Anas had a sensational debut by taking 5-23 to dismiss Snooker for 100.

Adams Taxis also beat Snooker to set up a decider with All Stars in the final game in Group B. Mohammed Arfan took 6-12 and Arif Hussain 4-18 to roll Snooker over for just 42 to set up a 10 wicket victory.

All Stars made sure of a place with a convincing 141 win over Adams. All Stars piled up 217-8 with Zubair having a great all round game, hitting 60 and then taking 5-23 to bowl Adams out for 76.
