The club is saddened to hear of the passing of former player Mark Demaine in hospital at the age of 56.

Mark was the son of former second team player Michael.

Mark graduated through the junior teams at the club, making his first team debut in 1987 at Ramsbottom.

A hard hitting middle order batsman and medium pace bowler, Mark hit 1075 runs at 9.9 in 147 Lancashire League games for Accrington with a highest score of 36.

In 1989 Mark hit a then second team record score of 136 at Enfield, adding 196 for the 3rd wicket with Bob Ratcliffe.

Mark's funeral will take place on Thursday July 27 at 2.20pm at Accrington Crematorium.
