The club is saddened to hear of the passing of former player Derek Mark on Tuesday July 4th at the age of 87 in Douglas, Isle of Man.

Derek was a right handed middle order batsman and a right arm medium paced bowler.

He made his first team debut in 1954 and was a member of the 1961 Championship winning side.

Derek's 180 runs at 11.3 in 1961 included a match winning unbeaten 51 at Todmorden facing Frank Tyson.

In 192 Lancashire League matches Derek hit 1314 runs at 10.5 and he also took 158 wickets at 19.0, including 7-52 against Rawtenstall in 1965.

Derek was a highly respected coach who returned to the club in 1973 to play one final season in the Lancashire League.
