Derek Mark The club is saddened to hear of the passing of former player Derek Mark on Tuesday July 4th at the age of 87 in Douglas, Isle of Man. Derek was a right handed middle order batsman and a right arm medium paced bowler. He made his first team debut in 1954 and was a member of the 1961 Championship winning side. Derek's 180 runs at 11.3 in 1961 included a match winning unbeaten 51 at Todmorden facing Frank Tyson. In 192 Lancashire League matches Derek hit 1314 runs at 10.5 and he also took 158 wickets at 19.0, including 7-52 against Rawtenstall in 1965. Derek was a highly respected coach who returned to the club in 1973 to play one final season in the Lancashire League.
