Club Legend Lenny Dewhurst has announced his retirement from cricket.

Lenny said: "I have officially retired from cricket and stepped down as Cricket Section Chairman after the Junior Cup semi final at Enfield mainly due to work commitments.

"I wish Accrington all the best for the future and will continue to support the club.

"I intend to rejoin my umpiring colleagues next season."

Management Chairman Jon Hayhurst said:"Everyone at Accrington Cricket Club would like to thank Lenny for his hard work over the last few years as Cricket Chairman and also the many years playing and captaining the 2nd XI.

"We all wish him well in the future and look forward to seeing him around the club."
