Junior Presentation Night

Club coach Graham Bushell handed out the prizes at the Junior Presentation Night.
Reflecting on the season Junior Co-Ordinator Mark Taylor said: "Although we didn’t quite manage to match the success of the previous season there were still some fantastic performances across all the age groups. We beat the eventual league winners in some games and a little more consistency would have seen us challenging for titles. However the most pleasing aspect was seeing the youngsters enjoying playing and also how they developed over the summer, both technically and in games. Once again the club was well represented in the District sides and we also had players recommended for Lancashire trials. Credit must go to our coaches and team managers, Wes Haworth, Simon Ross, Damian Clarke, Dave Kennedy, Andy Stevenson and Graham Bushell for all their hard work during the season. I would also like to thank all the 1st & 2nd XI players who volunteered to help with junior coaching, and in addition all the parents and grandparents for their support during the season. The club invested a lot of money during the winter in much needed upgrades to the practice facilities and there’s no doubt that the juniors benefitted tremendously from this. Thanks to the number of junior coaches we now have, we were able to do more one to one coaching with the aid of the bowling machine on the new artificial wicket. Hopefully we will see the rewards of the excellent coaching set up we now have in years to come, as the juniors move up into senior cricket. We look forward to seeing all the current juniors, and new ones, at indoor nets in February, only 3 months to go"
