On Sunday Accrington travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the cup semi final.

Burnley have six wins from fourteen final appearances. The last time Burnley won a final was in 1984. Accrington have won the cup three times in eight appearances. The two clubs have met once in the final with Accrington winning on their own ground in 1970.

Accrington's cup form in recent seasons has been appalling. Their win over Enfield in the last round was their first in the competition since 2001 and only their fourth since 1989. The clubs have met twelve times previously in the cup with Burnley coming out on top on nine occasions, most recently in 2006 and 2001. Accrington's last victory over Burnley in the cup was in 1989 on their way to the final.

Both clubs have injury worries. An accident has put Burnley veteran Andy McLeod out of action long term with a broken wrist and Graham Lalor has been struggling with a shoulder injury. The home side name twelve players with Stephen Whittaker added to Saturday's team.

Accrington professional Roy Silva has also been struggling with a hamstring injury as has Graeme Sneddon. Both have been passed fit to play but Jimmy Hayhurst is ruled out with a stress fracture of the spine.

The slow bowlers may hold the key to this match with David Ormerod's medium pace being backed up by the spin of Toby Bulcock, Paul Carroll and Damian Clarke in the Accrington side. Burnley will rely on spinners Bharat Tripathi and Michael Kelly to back up the medium pace of James Capstick.
