The 2008 Worsley Cup finalists Accrington and Todmorden have been drawn together in the 1st Round of the 2009 competition. Holders Accrington must travel to Centre Vale to begin the defence of the trophy they won last August. The two clubs have also been pitted against each other in the pre-season curtain raiser the Ron Singleton Colne Trophy. That match will take place at Thorneyholme Road on Saturday 25th April Bacup play East Lancs at Lanehead in a repeat of the 2008 final and Enfield take on Burnley at Dill Hall Lane. Nelson travel to Acre Bottom to face Ramsbottom and Holland Cup holders Rawtenstall take on Church at Bacup Road. Haslingden entertain Rishton and Colne and Lowerhouse have byes. The matches are due to take place on Sunday 24th May 2009. The full draw is:
