The Legends come to dinner Friday April 15th 2005 Accrington's Championship winning side of 1975 were reunited at a special dinner held in the club tonight. Twelve of the players who made Lancashire League history 30 years ago when Accrington became the only club to win the championship with every player, including the professional Alan Worsick, born and bred in the town, attended the dinner. New Lancashire League President Jack Houldsworth, who himself played against Accrington that season for Church, opened the speeches. Championship winning captain Peter West responded and Darwen Chairman Peter Lamster closed proceedings with a hilarious half hour (or so). A book on Accrington's historic season entitled 'It was 30 years ago today' will be launched on Sunday May 15th during the home match against Rishton.
