Accrington reach last eight in Worsley Cup

Accrington has reached the last eight of the Worsley Cup thanks to being given a bye in the draw which was made at tonights league meeting.

Worsley Cup holders Ramsbottom will travel to Alexandra Meadows to face East Lancs in the 1st Round. Runners up Church have a home tie against neighbours Rishton and 2000 winners Todmorden entertain Colne. Lowerhouse take on league champions Bacup at Liverpool Road and Rawtenstall play Nelson at Bacup Road. Enfield will play Haslingden at Dill Hall Lane and there are byes for Burnley, for the second year running, and Accrington. The matches will be played on Sunday May 18th.

The 2nd XI Cup draw is the reverse of the Worsley Cup fixtures.

The pre season curtain raiser between league champions Bacup and Worsley Cup winners Ramsbottom for the Colne Trophy will be at Lanehead on Saturday April 19th.

The Inter League match between the Lancashire League and the Central Lancashire League will be at Alexandra Meadows on Friday July 18th. The draw for the Inter League Challenge Trophy will take place on December 4th.

Lancashire League Secretary Lionel Cooke is to stand down in February after four years as Secretary and six as Assistant Secretary.
