The new electronic scoreboard arrived in April
Situated on the Tea Room
And operated from the Committee Room.
Chairman Rod Kenyon welcomed professional Tama Canning back to the
club at the pre-season party with top group Wasted on April 16th.
Tama helped Wasted tune up
And then turned on the style with REM's Everybody Hurts
The first home match on April 18th was a day of firsts
Colne veteran Gary Hunt registered the first league run on the new
board
Tama had the first appeal
Jimmy Hayhurst had the first wicket of the season
Was this the first match to feature four Wilsons? Poor Barney didn't
know if he was coming or going
Tama took his first wicket of the season
And Colne made 135-9 in 41 overs in a rain reduced match
Adam Wilson made 24 before being the victim of the season's first
controversy
But Tama swept away any doubts
Hitting five huge sixes
In
Accrington's first half century of the season
Tama hit an unbeaten 73 as the light faded and the camera man's
hand got shakier
And
shakier in the cold, but it was Jimmy who hit the winning run
over the 'keepers head
In Accrington's five wicket win which took the club to the top of
the table for the first time in two decades.
Accrington's first opening day win since 1993

Tama appeals but the Haslingden match marks the end of the winning
run.

Enfield

Another old friend returned. Nathan Astle with Keith, Tama and Rod
Things have changed since Nathan was last here and Peter took this
opportunity to point one or two things out
Russ also had some words with the League Exec
They've played against each other before but today was the first
time that Mas had faced his son Mohsin in a match
Jimmy was soon in need of some running repairs
Facing a daunting total Tama led from the front but it was not enough
as Enfield won by 44 runs
The new look 3rds won their first home match against Bacup on May
15th
A rare sight indeed - four slips, but no slip ups as the firsts
got back to winning ways against Rawtenstall on May 16th.
At Todmorden, Zed and Tama relaxed inbetween match winning performances
Adam
Wilson made 17
With Mohsin (27) the senior partner in an opening stand of 40
But all good things....
Tama survived an early chance
But was soon scoring runs
As was Zed
In a match winning unbeaten 52
As that winning feeling returned
It was barbie time after the Inter League win over Oldham
The quarter final against Littleborough brought a famous visitor
In former West Indies captain Richie Richardson
Things went downhill from 59-5 in a 10 wicket defeat
Accrington
