Accrington 190, Ramsbottom 231-9

Having won the toss the opposition decided to bat first on what looked like a 'tarmacked runway' of a pitch that had a weeks worth of sunshine on it and a half  dozen lost Accy matches!. As with our last game our opponents had a brilliant start and were flying at 150-1 off 32 overs. I desperately tried to find wickets and used no less than 7 bowlers. I even flirted with suicidal danger in contemplating to bowl James 'the mouth' Ormerod  who like a 'Big Issue' seller kept on hounding me to give him a bowl. I did not give in... even the under 17's team don't give him a chuck . I bet if he went into a Chinese restaurant they would refuse to give him a 'bowl', give him a slap on the head for being mouthy and make him eat off the table!

Zed's Guys

Eventually we managed to find 8 more breakthroughs before Ramsbottom completely ran away with things and restricted them to 231-9. Tauqeer 'Rambo 2' Hussain was the most successful bowler with 4-24 off 8 overs, impressive debut figures. Simon 'the great gambler' Hanson managed to get 3-38 off his 5 overs and myself and Matt I'm black really...yaa man' Donnelly ended with a wicket apiece.

Our batting reply began destructively with Ian 'I'm on salads' Johnson hitting a belligerent 49 that contained 4 sixes in an opening stand worth 70 off 8 overs. The innings gained further impetus with Ormy and Si Hanson taking the score to 130-1 off 23 overs before Ormy (35) had a headrush and got stumped charging. We managed to throw this great start away as myself (5) and Mark (1) 'The Nun' Williams got out quickly slogging when it was not what was required and Matt D got run out. Before we knew it we were all out for 190 with 9 overs to spare. This was another match that we threw away and this time it was in the batting department.
