BACUP 2ND 11 v ACCRINGTON 2ND 11
ACCRINGTON 61-7 (25 OVERS) BACUP 64-2 (14 OVERS)

Having travelled many a mile and up many a hill to the far displaced third world town of Bacup, we were amazed to find that Bacup Cricket Club forgot to cover their pitch the night before when there was persistent rain...the Bacup townsfolk were probably all out looking for witches to burn or catching frogs for the morning after maratorial celebration of Bobby Ewing the third to Peggy Michael Ewing, his estranged first cousin. That did not help us as we had a pitch to play that looked like a pub toilet....never the less having viewed the Accy players that were playing on the day the Bacup team looked a lot more keener to play and started frantically drying the pitch with much gusto

The game was reduced to 36 overs a side, and finally got underway with us winning the toss and 'batting' . we were reduced to 62-7 in 25 overs before the heavens had opened up again...and this continued for about an hour....The days highlights took place in the dressing room while it was 'lashing' outside. .. we accidentally decided to have a wet t shirt contest ......this was a no contest as Harold Donners won it with great ease.....and we almost mistaked him for Bacups finest and 'fittest' ! ....the Bacup players in the opposite dressing room were almost salivating at the prospect of a drenched H....But were repulsed with the stench that was Sam 'the felcher' Heap....he decided to bring with him the a farm type smell that was horrid to say the least.....He apparently heard a rumour that in these parts its a bit of an aphrodisiac!

Play finally got under way again and our innings stayed at 62 which Bacup had to get in 18 overs and promptly got in 14 overs with Scott Hudson and H taking the only two wickets. Another bad day at the office.
