Zed's Diary
Follow our new 3rd Team skipper on his journey onwards and upwards. From humble beginnings with the A Team, Zed has now assumed charge of the 3rds. With the 2nd team captaincy next in his sights Zed continues his journey to the top.

ACCRINGTON 218 all out v East Lancs 161-8

Having loss the toss we were put into bat and managed to reach 160-4 after 35 overs. It was a race to see whether the East Lancs bowlers would get us out or our own batting prodigy Sam Heap could run the team out (3 out of the 4 wickets to fall were run outs).

In the end we were bowled out with run outs reading 4 in total. The high score was solely due to the dash and dare Sam showed in his outstanding innings of 126 (next highest scorer was from Dave Hargreaves with 18....a run out victim might it be said). In the end we beat East Lancs with ease thanks to some tight bowling from all the bowlers and a brilliant effort from young Si Hanson who recorded figures of 4-35 from his 8 overs.

The third 11 are in the midst of a mini resurgence (3 wins from the last 5 games) and I'm hoping we win the last two matches. A happy captain and non-run out victim signing out!
