It is difficult to believe that we have done the double after last seasons demise,and,this makes the achievement of more importance than ever!! Great credit must go to all the players who were in the team at sometime,but particular mention must be made of the contribution of David as captain and leading wickettaker,supported,of course by Graham with not only his superb batting but his help to the skipper!! I remember the league titles in 1961 and 1975,but in my 66 years membership of the club this has got to be the most momentous occasion in the history of Accrington Cricket Club!! Well done to everyone who has contributed!!

Every member of the team has contributed to a sensational Double Winning Season from being Wooden Spoonists in previous years Winning [ including Worseley Cup] 22 out of 26 completed Matches speaks volumes of a Team worthy of their Title as the Best Team in the Lancashire League in 2008 "From Chumps to Champs" Let's enjoy the Moment - even Wallow in it for as long as necessary - Moments like this occur occasionally. Now let's think about improving as a club in the future... Congratulations to all Involved.
Ian Mac and Margaret Well what a season! Followed the season from the mountains of Austria with great interest. Great to see the club has turned the corner. A massive well done to all at the club for their hard work and effort, long may it continue. Just wanted to send a note of congratulations to everyone at Accrington CC this year. Ive been checking the results most weeks with great interest and its fantastic that the club are finally where they deserve to be. Great to see several old faces and especially to see the likes of Graeme Sneddon, Jimmy Hayhurst and Stuart Crabtree doing the business for the 1st team as I can remember them all playing for the U13’s, so its fantastic to see them win the double. Also great to see the old timers like Damian Clark and Zed Afzal getting their hands on some silverware as they along with great club people like Peter Barratt, Lenny, the Sneddons etc had to put up with the rough years and deserve everything that has happened this year. Well done to everyone – hope the end of season trip doesn’t get too out of hand. The Whittles Great to see everyone last Saturday. Congratulations to everyone. The way the team has continually fought back from parlous situations is a tribute to how you played for one another and to the belief in the side. Wonderful to see how much it means to all those who work behind the scenes - great people justly rewarded.
