Today sees us welcoming the players, officials and supporters of Rawtenstall to Thorneyholme Road. Along with ourselves they have had an excellent start to this campaign and the league table on page three shows that prior to yesterdays games we were sitting in first and second positions.

So whatever happened yesterday it is still going to be very much a top of the table clash here today. It seems very strange to be four weeks into the new season and still not have completed a game on home soil, the great gods of cricket have certainly been doing their rain dance whenever we have had a home fixture so far. Let’s hope that this weekend will see us get two full games in here at home - two wins would be very useful for us.

It has been an interesting couple of weeks here at Accy with David Lloyd’s return and the Sky TV cameras in attendance. The footage they shot over the two weekends is due to be aired on Cricket AM on Sky Sports on Saturday May 24 th so don’t miss it. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bumble for all the help he has given the club over recent months, and for anyone who thinks he was just in the team for the ride, you should have seen him in the dressing room – he was as keen as anybody to play and very disappointed when we didn’t last Sunday. So on with today’s game it should be a cracker.
