From the Dressing Room

tall stories

Welcome to all the players, officials and supporters from Rishton. We hope that you enjoy your visit to Thorneyholme Road this afternoon. The season is now well and truly under way and six games in we find ourselves in second spot in the table with 62 points, just three behind leaders Nelson. It really has been a terrific opening to the campaign and a lot of credit must go to the skipper David Ormerod, he has had the difficult task of blending youth and experience, long serving and new players and he has done a great job in getting us off to a great start.

Of course it always helps when you have a player of the experience of Graham Lloyd coming back to the club and I know that Dibber is using all of Grahams knowledge both on and off the field to the best advantage of the club. But however much help he gets being skipper can be a lonely place at times, having to make decisions that are not universally popular, but, it is his call and I urge all the players to give him 100% backing in whatever is asked of them. Today’s visitors are the current League Champions and although they haven’t had the best start this year they are a top team and have some very talented cricketers in their side, we will once again have to be at our best to defeat them. There are no easy games in the Lancashire League and we will need all your support as always.

Enjoy the game.
