A 6 wicket home defeat by Todmorden sent Accrington tumbling back to the bottom of the table following two successive away wins. Professional Dan Marsh (4-33) and Ibrar Ali (4-44) took 4 wickets apiece to help bowl Accrington out for 116. . Ali struck first by removing opener Mark Stevenson (25) at 37. Marsh had Tofeeq Khan (15) caught by John Barker at 45 and he then took a return catch off his opposite number Chad Grainger (10) at 61. Martin Whittle (5) was cleaned up by Marsh at 74 with skipper Paul Barratt (28) being run out at 94. Stefan Heins (13) was stumped by David Whitehead off Ali at 106 and three runs later Tariq Hussain (2) became the second run out victim of the innings. Ali removed Russ Edmonds (5) and Scott Greaves (0) at 110 and Marsh polished off the tail by cleaning up Wayne Roberts (6) at 116 leaving Len Dewhurst unbeaten on 0. Granger had Mark Clayton (0) caught by Heins at 1 but Brian Heywood (47 not out) and Marsh (47) put on 58 before the Australian fell to his opposite number. One run later Dewhurst had Alex Scholefield caught by Heins without scoring and Greaves sent back Whitehead (13) at 85. Gary Proctor (8 not out) and Heywood saw Todmorden home after 38 overs.
