An unbeaten half century and a five wicket haul for professional Brad McNamara sent Accrington to a fifth successive defeat after a 29 run loss at Haslingden. Opener Graham Knowles top scored with a career best 94, including fourteen fours and a six before being run out. Patrick Lord also hit 39, adding 125 for the first wicket with Knowles. McNamara hit eight fours in his unbeaten 64, adding 49 with Knowles and 44 with Mike Ingham (22) in Haslingden's 234-4. Accrington lost Steve Birtwistle to McNamara's fourth ball before a run had been scored but Tofeeq Khan and professional Chad Grainger added 132 for the second wicket to put Accrington ahead of the game. McNamara broke the stand in his 14th over, cleaning up his opposite number for a league best 94, including 15 fours and a six. Khan (an equal career best 36) and Russell Edmonds (6) both fell to McNamara and Mick Tracey respectively at 151, Skipper Brian Holmes and Wayne Roberts took the score to 178 when Holmes fell to Tracey for 16. Tariq Hussain (0) fell to McNamara without addition as the overs ran out. The final 3 wickets fell at 205 with Roberts being bowled by Ian Cameron for 29, Alistair Cunliffe run out for 8 and last man Len Dewhurst trapped in front by Cameron. McNamara finished with 5-50.
