Accrington v Burnley
Bottom club Accrington went down to a fifth successive defeat, losing to Burnley by 42 runs at Thorneyholme Road. Father and son opening pair, captain Peter and son Michael Brown put on 44 before Michael was bowled by Scott Greaves for 20. Peter also fell to Greaves, caught by skipper Mark Stevenson for 36 at 83. Mark Harvey and professional Rudra Singh added 107 for the 3rd wicket before Singh fell to his opposite number Chad Grainger for 51, including six fours and a six. Harvey (65 not out, including five fours and a six) and Andy McLeod (16 not out) took the score to 210-3 when the innings closed after 43 overs. Singh sent back Tofeeq Khan (2) at 9 and Kamran Farooq removed Stevenson (11) at 24. Grainger and Martin Whittle added 58 before Singh had Grainger caught by Farooq for 51, including five fours and a six. Khizer Saeedsent back Whittle (22) at 94, Wayne Roberts (7) at 108, Steve Birtwistle (3) at 112 and Tariq Hussain (9) at 122 in picking up a career best 4-51 from 13 overs. Chris Wright (2-7) chipped in with the wickets of Greaves (6) at 130 and wicketkeeper Mick Wilson (1) off the final ball of the innings leaving Stefan Heins unbeaten on 24 in Accrington's 142-9.
