Accrington's Worsley Cup adventure ended at Bacup where the home side notched up a 3 wicket victory. The visitors recovered from the loss of Mark Stevenson before the scoreboard had recorded a run to make 168-9 thanks to some consistent batting. Wayne Roberts (40) and Paul Barratt (28) added 73 for the 2nd wicket with Russ Edmonds (20), Brian Holmes (20), Martin Whittle (18) and professional Chad Grainger (16) all chipping in. Professional Roger Harper took 4-46 and Michael Cronshaw 3-47 for the home side. Azad Akram removed the dangerous Harper for 22 with only opener Mark Taylor (37) of the top order getting in as Bacup were reduced to 81-5. Michael Cronshaw played a match winning innings of 37 not out with Anthony Pooler (27) adding 51 for the 6th wicket before falling to Scott Greaves. John Chapman then hit a rapid 21 to see Bacup to victory after Andrew Spencer had been run out.
